Somalia’s Ex-president Advised Against Incendiary Speech

Hargaysa, 06 October, 2018. The former Somali president Sheikh Hassan warned the inflammatory language when it comes to Somaliland issue. “As that only alienates Somaliland people.” He said. Former Somali president called Farmaajo-led government to concede the atrocities committed in the name of Somali government. He implicitly suggested the rhetoric of the Somalia can only antagonize Somaliland “my policies were to stay out of inflammatory speeches during my tenure.” He said.
In his win as newly formed political party, Sheikh Hassan argued that Somali government should reward who gave up their independence for the sake of greater unity and nationhood. “it’s time to repay the debts.” They gave their independence to Somalia in the attention that Somalia would seek the three remaining Somali speaking territories of NDF of Kenya, Ogaden of Ethiopia, and Isse and Afar land known as Djibouti.

His call coincided western ambassadors in Nairobi who called both sides to revive the direct talks between Somaliland and Somalia. The ambassadors of Denmark and Holland in Kenya Mette Knudsen and Frans Makken respectively called that Somaliland and Somalia should resume political talks, this time talks venue would be Nairobi.
