The government of Somalia has today confirmed the second case of coronavirus infection.
The minister of health, Dr. Fowsiya Abikar, announce that the case is a Somali national who returned from coronavirus infected destination.
Dr. Fowsiya said the person does not show the symptoms of the infection and will go through more tests. The patient in quarantine as Somalia isolates all people coming to the country for a period of fourteen days.
Somalia has taken a host of preventive measures to ward off a possible outbreak of the deadly virus. It included suspending all international flights and closing learning institutions.
Somalia is perhaps one of the countries least equipped to cope with a deadly virus at this juncture.
