Somaliland President Muse Bihi appointed an inter-ministerial task force for Coronavirus response. The task force is comprised of the minister of Health Cumar Cabdillaahi Bedey,
Saleebaan Ali Koore, the information and culture minister, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed Interior minister, and religious affairs minister Khalil Abdillahi.
This comes a day after neighboring Ethiopia and Kenya recorded the first cases of Coronavirus in East Africa. They were immediately followed by Sudan and Rwanda who also recorded one case of infection each.
Saleebaan Ali Koore, the minister of health will coordinate the efforts of all the committee.
In a decree, the president noted the measures that the government has already taken to prevent a Cornovirus outbreak in the country. However, President Bihi said more preparedness and preventive measures are needed.
