Armed militia on bikes collided with the Somali army at Dabka junction in Mogadishu which left three people dead and another.
However, there has been no accurate report of the victims’ identity and we cannot ascertain if they are combatants or mere passersby.
The injured person is confirmed to be a member of the gunmen on motorbike who attacked the soldiers.
The junction is always busy with vehicles and pedestrians; which emptied out during the clash but returned to normal after tension had doused.
Military men positioned near the junction where the incident occurred said there is intelligence leakage around the incident because the junction leads to the Somalia’s presidency.
Somalia’s capital hardly goes a day without suicide bombing since al-Shabab forces joined the political scene. Many residents have now gotten used to gunfire and loud explosions that happen day in, day out. Security forces backed by foreign peacekeepers have failed to crush the militants.
