Hargeisa– Following a “historic: milestone deal among the three parties, Awdal people raised concerns about the agreement that nowhere mentioned their grievances that has been long remained outstanding by three successive governments of Somaliland.

The citizens said that Somaliland deal ignored the popular call for review of the constitution raised by western part of Somaliland people. It seemed three persons reached an agreement in direct collision of the people’s interest.

Awdal people had been raising “disproportionat”e ratio of parliamentary posts in Somaliland. They neither like the current division nor the one in the British colonial era; both pacts they argue underestimate their population number in Borama.

The president didn’t express any political will to address the thorny issue of redistribution of the legislature seats that often said that is lopsided. The next elections would be as usual without any registration sweeping Awdal’s substance matter under the carpet.
