The Former Somalia Prime minister Omar Arte Qalib has died in Hargeisa, Somaliland where he had recently been sick. He served as Somalia Prime minister in 1991-93.
Omar Arte Qalib who hails from Somaliland was born in 1930.
From 1969 to 1977, he served as Somalia’s foreign minister. During this time, he is remembered for his role of peace deal agreements between East Africa countries including Uganda and Tanzania.
In 1972, Omar Arte was also the President of the United Nations Security council.
