Ethiopia revokes dozens of political parties following a failure of documentation requirements. The numbers of parties whose licenses were revoked are staggering 27, unconfirmed sources say two of the delegitimized parties belong to Somali region of Ethiopia.
Many of these parties were legalized by the Ethiopian Election Board before, until new regulations came forth. They were invalidated of host of reasons of delaying from the deadline or failed to submit the required documents.
The revoking coincided the World Freedom Index of which Ethiopia hovers on of one of lowest rankings. It made free fall.
