Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi emphasized the importance of finding a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. The president highlighted the need for collective action and urged the global community to prioritize the pursuit of a cease-fire to bring stability and relief to the region. This call comes as tensions continue to escalate, with a growing number of casualties and destruction.
In a recent phone call, Sisi and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak discussed the escalating Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian Presidency issued a statement confirming the conversation.
President Sisi emphasized the importance of resolving the Palestinian issue through the implementation of a two-state solution. He highlighted that military approaches would jeopardize the security and stability of the region.
Sunak made it clear that the UK places great importance on protecting civilians, delivering aid, and achieving a humanitarian truce in Gaza.
The Israeli army has widened its attacks on the Gaza Strip. The continuous airstrikes since Hamas launched their offensive have caused a lot of damage and suffering.
The conflict has resulted in over 10,300 casualties, including at least 8,796 Palestinians and more than 1,538 Israelis, as reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry.
