The National Committee convened its third round of meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to evaluate the progress of preparations for the highly anticipated 37th African Union Summit and the 44th Executive Council meeting scheduled for February 2024 in Addis Ababa.
Stakeholders,, on Tuesday, participated in the meeting, delivering comprehensive reports on their respective activities conducted in the previous month, aligning with the meticulously devised work plan established during the initial meeting.
The reports spanned a wide array of domains, encompassing health, security, beautification and greenery initiatives, hospitality arrangements, transportation logistics, media coverage strategies, and the provision of basic services.
H.E. Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Chairperson of the National Committee, underscored the importance of adhering to the established schedule.
Ambassador Birtukan urged all stakeholders to expedite their activities, emphasizing the critical role each element plays in ensuring the success of the upcoming summit.
Further highlighting the collaborative efforts, Ambassador Birtukan expressed the Ministry’s close partnership with both the African Union and members of the national committee to guarantee the summit’s seamless execution.
Acknowledging the commendable progress achieved by the concerned institutions thus far, Ambassador Birtukan extended appreciation and provided clear directives for the activities slated to unfold until January 22, 2024, setting the stage for a meticulously orchestrated and successful African Union Summit.
