Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdillahi Farmajo has met with state presidents in Mogadishu over the recently concluded talks between the Federal Government and its member states.
Mohamed Abdillahi Farmajo, Somalia’s President held meetings with the state leaders in Mogadishu yesterday over the accelerated implementation of recently concluded electoral talks between the Federal Government and state leaders.
The meeting also focused on the federal and regional electoral committee and their number. The Federal government officials pledged their commitment to investing their efforts into implementing the deal they had reached earlier this month which was later approved by the country’s parliament.
The electoral process is expected to start from November 2020 with Presidential elections coming in February next year.
Some candidates have declared interest in running for the presidency in the coming elections including the former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire who was ousted in a controversial no-confidence vote by the parliament in July this year.
