Al-Shabaab leader in SW State surrenders to Somali National Army

Mogadishu (Somaliland.com) – A senior Al-Shabaab militant has surrendered to the country’s forces in Hudur district in the South-West State of Somalia after the army launched operations in the areas which are under the control of al-Shabaab.

Yarow Hassan Aden, Seyfu-LLaah, as his code name, said that he renounced terrorism ideology and asked to be forgiven, and now he is ready to fight against Al-Shabaab.

Mr. Seyfu-Laah pointed out that he defected from al-Shabaab for their genocide of the Somali Muslim innocents, killing people in vain, which was beyond his authority.

Mr. Seyfu-LLaah said he has fought in many regions of Somalia as the coordinator between regional fighters and the high-ranking superiors.

A commander in SNA said that the defected militant contacted them for defection.

The Somali armed forces in the South-West State of Somalia are carrying out operations against Al-Shabaab, which has led to many group’s leaders and militants to defect from Al-Shabaab.
