Alshabab withdraws from Harar-Dheere town as Somalia army close to capture it

Initial reports say the Somalia national forces and pro-government militia are extremely close to recapture the Harar-Dheere town of Mudug region after Alshabab reportedly withdrew on Saturday for undisclosed motives.

Local media also reported that Alshabab ordered residents to flee from their homes, a directive that the group members have used in their previous withdrawals. Meanwhile, Federal government and regional officials had accused Al-shabab for damaging the wells of the liberated villages before they left and kidnapping the residents taking them as a human shield, claiming that the group will keep doing these activities in order to survive from government attacks.

Somalia government forces seem to be developing new military strategies towards Galmudug state’s liberation efforts after many parties of Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions were liberated from Alshabab. According to the army officials.

Also, the army claimed to have liberated Ali-Hello village of Gal’ad town of Galguduud region last night in a military operation in which no casualties were reported by all warring sides.
