An Al-Shabaab member surrenders to the Somalia National Army

According to government officials, An Alshabab member known as Dhurre Yusuf Garow also known as Hilal surrendered to the Somalia National Army’s 60 units in the Bay region. Dhurre was responsible for guerrilla operations for the Alshabab.

He said that the reason he left the group is because of the internal conflicts and the lies they share about the Islamic religion. Dhurre Yusuf sent a message to his friends who are still part of the Al-Shabaab group to leave and surrender to the National Army.

This is not the first time the Somalia government revealed the identities of Al Shabaab members who defected or surrendered to the government forces after they claimed changing their Alshabab ideology.

The Federal government officials repeatedly asked Alshabab members to withdraw the extremist ideology and defect to the government, pledging them for safety and forgiveness.
