Few hours after the death of a Tuktuk driver in Mogadishu on Saturday, the Banadir regional police affirmed the arrest of police officers in connection with the Murder. The regional police chief Moalim Mahdi confirmed this to the Public.
The regional police chief said all police officers who were on duty at the scene where the incident happened were arrested over the killing of the Tuktuk driver in Howlwadaag district which initially was reported the prime suspect as a police officer.
The authorities said they have launched investigations into the matter, promising to bring the perpetrators to justice. However, the regional police chief asked residents to regain their calm and avoid insecurity activities whenever such incidents happen after many people staged protests yesterday to demand justice for the fallen driver.
The murder of drivers by the security forces has been frequent in Somalia in recent years as the government vowed several times to control the rising killings, but, it seems the situation still remains the same.
