

Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, who is in the United Arab Emirate to attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, has met with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday at Qasr Al Shati Palace.
Ethiopian PM, Abiy Ahmad seized the opportunity to meet with the UAE president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan while on a tour to attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
During the meeting, the Ethiopian premier deliberated on ways of advancing bilateral relations for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
The two leaders witnessed an exchange of an agreement between the Ethiopian government and UAE clean energy powerhouse Masdar to develop solar power projects with a total capacity of 500 megawatts as a first phase, with the aim of developing up to 2000 megawatts of similar projects within the Eastern African nation.
The deal was signed by Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance in Ethiopia.
Scheduled from January 14 to19 this week, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) will accelerate sustainable development and advance economic, social and environmental progress.
Held under the theme UNITED ON CLIMATE ACTION TOWARDS COP28, ADSW 2023, through its multi-stakeholder platforms, will empower its participants to develop practical strategies to achieve sustainable development in the critical areas of Energy and Climate Change, Water and Food, Mobility, Health, Tech for Good, and Digitalization.
