Unidentified gunmen armed with weapons carried out an attack in Galkayo, killed two people on the spot and injured three. Local media reports the incident happened last night and the perpetrators absconded from the scene.
The deceased were identified as Burhan Jama Elmi and Farhan Nasir, initial reports say they were in a business center when they were deliberately killed by the gunmen. No official statement from the regional security agencies regarding the incident.
Also, it’s unclear if the murder relates to the frequent inter-clan revenges as the city recently experienced similar incidents. Police reported that several people were killed over inter-clan revenge attacks in the last few months.
The regional administration had pledged on several occasions to control and develop coherent security strategies subsequent to the matter.
