Ahmed Islam Madobe, the Jubaland state leader of Somalia hosted the country’s militry chief General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh at his office. The current security situation of the region was the main center of their discussion.
Initial reports revealed that the regional leader plans to launch what he regarded as the “final” military operation against Alshabab fighters in his territory to remove them from the remaining hideouts.
Officials said the operation will be carried out by the federal government troops backed by the regional forces. Ahmed Madobe advised his regional forces to intensify military operations against the group as the country plans to hold elections.
Meanwhile, General Yusuf Odowaa Rageh extended gratitude to the regional leader for being supportive to the federal government troops and pledged the mission will be successful in the future.
