Kenyan lawyer Paul Gicheru who was facing interference charges at the International Criminal Court in The Hague,Netherlands was found dead last night at his home in Karen, Nairobi. The cause of death is yet to be known.
Police said he was found unresponsive at about 7 pm. According to an OB report number 54 filed at Karen Police Station, Gicheru had foam his mouth. The lawyer is said to have felt unwell after having a late lunch and went to bed but he did not wake up. Police confirmed that His son too collapsed and was taken to Karen hospital in stable condition.
The late Gicheru had allegedly bribed witnesses to either recant their testimonies or refuse to testify in the crimes against humanity case that faced President William Ruto and former journalist Joshua Sang.
His family said they will be addressing media on Tuesday.
