The meeting between President Farmajo and Prime Minister Roble ended after long hours late last night, without any tangible results.
The country’s top leaders are said to have disagreed on the need for a thorough investigation into the Ikraan Tahlil case, the independence of the judiciary, as well as the quarrel over leadership of NISA , with each party wanting their appointment validated.
Reports have also emerged of president Farmaajo asking mediation officials, for him and Roble to be left alone. Their private meeting however ended hours later with no agreements made.
The standoff between the two leaders was attributed to the fact that each had maintained his position, resulting in a fruitless mediation.
There has been no word from either Farmajo or Roble regarding the failed talks aimed at ending the recent dispute between the two top officials over the impeachment of former NISA commander Fahad Yassin, over the death of Ikraan Tahliil.
