According to a report by CBA Tv, the Ehlu Khair centre in Mogadishu which hosts a number of people living with mental health problems is now facing tough conditions after its premises were reclaimed and demolished by the landlord. The management of the centre expressed concern over the circumstance of the centre which has none to support the care of the patients.
Some of the families of these patients are yet to be known which makes it difficult to find someone who can take their responsibilities after their longtime residential home was destroyed and face a desperate life.
The Manager of the center Sheikh Abdirahman Ma’aw who spoke to CBA TV said the center has been serving the community since 1997 and hosted a large number of patients. He also revealed that 35 people have died inside the centre since its launch.
Sheikh Abdirhman Ma’aw called on the international community, Somali people, both the federal regional state leaders to extend explicit support and find a land for the center to proceed serving those in need.
