

The New Prime minister of Malaysia said he is willing to level up the bilateral relations with Somalia in a response to a congratulatory message from Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on his appointment as Malaysia’s 10th Prime minister.
The President of Somalia also expressed interest in enhancing diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Somalia as hundreds of Somali people travel to Malaysia for different purposes including study and health.
The New Prime minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, took the oath of office as Prime minister on Thursday. Anwar’s Alliance of Hope led Saturday’s election with 82 seats, short of the 112 needed for a majority.
An unexpected surge of ethnic Malay support helped former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s right-leaning National Alliance win 73 seats, with its ally, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, emerging as the single party — rather than a coalition — winning the most seats with 49 seats.
