The President of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has appointed Fahad Yasin who was recently sacked by the Prime minister as his new security advisor. In a statement, the President stated he received a resignation letter from Fahad Yasin as the NISA Chief and accepted from him.
Farmajo appointed Yasin Abdullahi, the Banadir regional security chief as the National Intelligence Agency Chief. Meanwhile, the Prime minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Rooble, has accused the President of “disrupting” investigation into the killing of Somali female intelligence agent, Ikran Tahliil.
The Prime minister instructed the newly appointed NISA chief to immediately start his duties and asked the judiciary systems to expedite the investigation of the killing of Ikran Tahliil. The cracks in Somalia’s national executive continue to widen on Tuesday as both the PM and President issued new competing directives and appointments.
