The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud spoke about the assassination of three well known traditional leaders killed in Masagwa of Galgaduud and condemned Al Shabaab for the responsibility of the attack in strong terms.
The President described the attack as a “Barbaric act” and said its clear indication shows the absolute animosity Alshabab has towards the public. The president acknowledged that it would require a great deal of blood and lives to re-liberate the nation from Alshabab.
He emphasized, however, that triumph was close because Al-Shabaab had been driven out of numerous places they had controlled for many years. The federal government recently declared its plan to launch the second phase of the anti Alshabab war.
President Hassan and his administration referred to the first phase as victorious, and expressed optimism that the second one could be the same and more villages will be liberated from Alsbabab.
