Speaking at the opening ceremony of the long-awaited reconciliation conference for the Southwest state, President Hassan Sheikh believes the regional political stakeholders should not seek a third party to help them with resolving their political disagreements.
Pointing out some advice to all sides, He said the current political contention in Southwest state could only be solved through peaceful negotiations and ruled out any violence activities, predicted and expressed optimism the ongoing conference would bring solutions to the regional political crises.
The conference was attended by the notable political stakeholders that include the incumbent regional administration and opposition figures and is expected to last for a few days. Each side will display his political stance regarding the election on the table.
Opposition figures repeatedly clarified their desire for the regional presidential election to take place as soon as possible, challenging the one year term extension for President Abdiaziz Laftagareen.
