President Hassan Sheikh welcomes the newly appointed cabinet

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has held a welcoming meeting with Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre and his designated cabinet. The President urged them to meet Somali people’s expectations and to serve the public efficiently and honestly.

President Hassan Sheikh acknowledged his Prime minister’s sincere consultation with intellectuals before announcing his ministers. He advised the new cabinet to prioritize security, humanitarian crises, reconciliation and the completion of the federal constitution.

President Hassan Sheikh requested the parliament to expedite the approval of the new cabinet to kick start serving for the nation. On Tuesday, Prime minister Hamse named 26 ministers including three women.
