Puntland security forces have killed at least 20 ISIS fighters and wounded several others in an operation in the northeastern federal state.
According to the security forces, they destroyed an ISIS base during security operations in the Al-Miskaat Mountains
Officials said Puntland Security Force (PSF) troops also intercepted two vehicles loaded with explosive materials which ISIS members were planning to use in terror attacks to harm innocent civilians in Somali.
Puntland security forces successfully detonated these harmful materials at a safe location.
ISIS Somalia is led by Abdulkadir Mumin who was a former Al Shabab leader.
The group has headquarters in Galgala mountains in Bari region but has made headways into southern Somalia.
