Djibouti, Aug 19 (Somaliland.com) – A delegation led by President of Somalia, HE. Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, arrived at the Djibouti capital yesterday evening for an official visit.
The president and his team were accorded a state welcome by the prime minister of Djibouti Abdiqadir Kamil Mohamed, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Telecommunications, and members of the parliament of Djibouti.
The Somalia president today met with his counterpart, the president of Djibouti Ismaïl Omar Gelle, discussed a range of issues which included regional security, regional politics, economic partnerships, and other issues of mutual interests.
Djibouti is considered to be a brotherly nation by Somalia, and over the past years, she has contributed immensely to state-building and maintenance of peace by contributing to the peacekeeping force in Somalia.
The current visit is due to strong ties between the friendly nations and it seeks to address issues facing the region from a united front.
The president of Somalia was accompanied by the Minister for Telecommunications, Abdi Anshur Hassan, and the director-general of the State House of Somalia, Dr Noor Diriye Hirsi.
