The Somalia national armed forces claimed to have captured Buurweyn Village of Buuloburte district in Hiiraan region from Alshabab after the army launched an attack targeting the fighters who were stationed there. Alshabab has not provided details on the matter.
Somali army officers said they have recaptured the village which has been Alshabab’s control in the last decade without much resistance from the group. There have been no casualties reported on both sides.
In recent days, the Somali army confirmed liberating strategic villages in the central and Southern Somalia from Alshabab that include Adam Yabaal, pledged more to fall under the control of the government in the next months.
