The Somali Armed Forces Court, this morning sentenced Abdirizak Mohamed Abdi Jimale, to 15 years in prison for being a member of terrorist group ISIS.
According to the court, the man was a money transfer agent for the organization, where he spent more than $ 400,000 on a company called Heeryo trading Enterprise between 2019-2020.
The court said some of the money went to Ugandan and Ethiopian nationals in South Africa.
The suspect was arrested by somali intelligence group, NISA in March of this year,with $ 19,000 in cash.
Before joining ISIS in 2016, the court said he had been a member of al-Shabaab since 2008, and was wounded in the fighting between Alshabab and the transitional government of President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
