In a press release the somali police spokes-person SADIK ALI confirmed that the somali forces in Afgoye district of lower-shabelle region seized a tuktuk with red colour carring two different types of explosives such as MB5-MOTOCYCLE ALARM SYSTEM REMOTE and EFP which are mostly used by Alshabab.
He stated that these explosives were intended to harm innocent civilians, however, the device was safely removed and disabled without any harm to the public. SADIK ALI reported that the two suspects and the Rikshaw are in the hands of the Somali forces and will be brought to justice soon.
On Saturday, the police urged the public to be watchful of further Alshabab attacks in major towns and public places as the war between the government and Al Shabab has been intensifying in recent weeks.
The federal government claimed that Alshabab could wage attacks against civilians due to the heavy “losses” in the ongoing war in central and southern Somalia.
