A military court in Somalia executed a soldier, Ahmed Abdi Hassan, known as Dhagadhere after being convicted of murdering Farah Omar Geelle, a NISA regional deputy commander in Galmudug and his sister Hawo Omar Geelle in Abudwaq ten days ago.
Ahmed, a soldier in the 21st division, was executed by a firing squad in the town’s central square on Tuesday. Farah and Hawo were murdered on July 17 in Abudwaq town centre. Ahmed initially escaped from the murder scene but was apprehended two days later just outside Abudwaq district.
He was convicted by the 21st Division military court on Sunday and sentenced to death. The Geelle family said they were satisfied with the court’s conclusion and welcomed the death sentence.
