The Somali National Army Cheif General Odowaa Yusuf Rage reported to the media that The Special Forces of the National Security and Intelligence Agency killed a Al-shabab plotter between the Basra and Sabyo areas and arrested two other members of the group, who were carrying explosives and weapons.
General Odowaa Yusuf Rage said that the local residents informed the national security agencies about the presence of Al Shabaab members in the targeted areas. According to Odowaa Yusuf Rage, the National Army in cooperation with the regional forces killed 14 members of Al-Shabaab leaders who were hiding in the Dhabaq-Libey area under the Adan Yabal district in the Middle Shabelle state.
The army of the country and the pro government militia who liberated al-shabab from key villages of the Middle Shabelle state are still conducting operations in the forest areas and villages to chase al-shabab out of the region.
