Somalia national has carried out a military operation against Alshabab fighters in Lower Juba region. The army officers said three Alshabab fighters were killed during the operation and wounded more others. The Somalia forces did not disclose if there were casualties on their side.
The national army claimed to have diffused explosive devices which they believe Alshabab had planted on roads to harm the residents. The group has neither accepted nor denied the claim by the federal government forces.
Meanwhile, The army officers held a meeting with the locals to seek their collaboration in the war against Alshabab and asked them to inform the security agencies if they see suspicious activities in the region to avoid the threat of Alshabab.
The army also pledged the operation will continue until they remove Alshabab fighters from their remaining areas in central and Southern Somalia yet the group still seems to have intensified its operations and carried out deadly attacks in the capital.
