

Somali Government Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Duran Ahmed Farah has directed the security officials at Aden Adde International Airport to tighten the security of the facility following the deadly al-Shabaab attack on the airport areas last Month.
Duran, who chaired a meeting on security at Aden Abdulle Airport in Mogadishu, has emphasized the need for more security measures to be taken in order to secure the airport.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, the Director General, the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, the Manager of the Airport Aden Abdulle, the Director of the Immigration Agency and other officials.
The officials briefed the minister about the latest measures implemented in the wake of last month’s attack.
On 23rd of March, two armed men had sneaked into Mogadishu’s marine gate and staged a deadly attack in an area near Halane base which houses UN agencies, Western embassies as well as the AU peace-keeping mission.
According to the statement, the attack claimed the lives of seven people including four foreign military trainers and one Somali national. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, saying its fighters killed more than 15 foreigners in the attack.
