Somalia Cabinet of Ministers, chaired by the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, met in an emergency meeting and approved the Anti-Terrorism Law and the Immigration Law.
The meeting started with discussions of the huge damage and problems caused by acts of terrorism that targets the blood, property and the stability of the Somali nation and to base the Somali government on the supremacy of law and the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms.
The Prime Minister of Somalia Hamse Abdi Barre, stated It is necessary to issue a legislative proposal to combat and suppress terrorist activities and to control criminal acts resulting from terrorism and to bring before those who commit terrorist acts to justice in accordance with the law. In addition, the conference also approved the Immigration Law, which will contribute greatly to the country’s travel system.
In a majority approval the cabinet also approved a Trade Cooperation Agreement between Somalia and Uganda, which will greatly benefit the Somali business people in Uganda and will benefit greatly to the cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Culture and Tourism presented a plan to connect the government and the people of Somalia and how the community can hold the government accountable ehich was not approved in the meeting.
