The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Salah Ahmed Jama, sent a peace call towards the clashes in Lasanod. He reaffirmed the Somalia government’s commitment to resolve the tension through dialogue.
Salah Ahmed Jama sent a call to the authorities of the Somaliland government not to use war and guns as a solution, but to use dialogue and negotiation, and called on them to lead to a lasting peaceful solution.
He also called on the Local politicians, clan elders and the fighting parties to de-escalate tension and come to the negotiation table, underlining armed conflict would not bring solution to the strained condition.
The Deputy Prime minister stated that he is gravely concerned about the current violence in LasAnod city that has resulted in many deaths and injuries in the past few days in LasAnod.
