

After four days of consultation, the federal government and member state leaders of Somalia have concluded the national consultative council meeting in Mogadishu. The council issued a communique with five points agreed on by the stakeholders.
The Information minister Daud Aweys who made the announcement said that the council members agreed on to eradicate Alshabab in Somalia and to accelerate the implementation of the 2017 national security structure.
The council members acknowledged the importance of Somalia to have a multi party system and to conduct a free and fair election with a registered voting system. Further, the communique said the council members will have their next meetings in December 2022 and February 2023.
However, they also expressed hearbroken by the death of the civilians in Mogadishu’s car bombs on Saturday that killed over 100 and 300 were injured.
