The Foreign affairs minister of Somalia, Abshir Omar Jama has held talks with a delegation from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mogadishu. Senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs members were part of the Norway delegation led by Gunnar Andreas Holm, the country’s ambassador to Somalia.
The government officials discussed ways to enhance and raise relations and strategic partnerships between the two countries to more comprehensive levels to serve common interests after Norway restored diplomatic relations with Somalia in 2013.
Last December, the Norwegian government contributed $30 million to the World Bank-administered Somalia Multi-Partner Fund (MPF) which Somalia’s federal finance minister stated that the funds would strengthen financial reform.
