Somalia forces have launched a special operation on Alshabab’s military base in the lower Shabelle region. The fighting which took place in Aliyow Barrow village has reported no casualties and security forces underlined their aim was to weaken Alshabab fighters in the region.
Military officials claimed that they have destroyed military bases belonging to Alshabab which they used to plan their attacks against the government though the group has said nothing about this incident.
The commandos have strengthened the military operations against Alshabab in the region for the past few days despite the group still controlling swathes of rural areas, conducting ambushes and planting landmines.
