A statement from the Somalia federal government reported that 49 al-Shabab were killed last night in a planned operation and air strikes with the support of partners in bulo-madino village of lower Shabelle region.
The government’s report did not reveal the exact number injured of both sides, also the government stated that they destroyed and apprehended armored vehicles belonging to the Alshabab, a claim Alshabab has neither accepted nor denied.
The government stated that the al-Shabab were plotting an attack against the civilians but were stopped by the Somali national army special forces and NISA agents in bulo-madino village with support of Somalia’s international security partners.
However, the government praised the residents and the local militias who took part in the ongoing war against Alshababab in central and Southern Somalia.
