Somalia government informed the public that all the main roads of Mogadishu will be temporarily blocked ahead of Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh arrival that led people to use other alternative roads in the city.
Some of the residents who spoke to the media have complained about the government’s directives as the government, In a statement, pleaded with the public to respect the order to secure the safety of the foreign delegation.
Last night, the government also announced that all flights to and from Adan Adde airport will be suspended starting from 6:00 Am – 6:00 Pm local time. The only planes exempted are VIPs and technical flights.
Other regional dignitaries are also expected to land in Mogadishu in the next hours who are believed to attend the opening ceremony of the new headquarters of a center which aims to promote Somali language and its literature.
