Somalia is hosting a meeting in Mogadishu of the Ministers of Defense and Commanders of the Armed Forces of the neighboring countries, this meeting is focusing on analyzing the completion of operations for the liberation of the areas where the Al-shabab remains, the coordination and the cooperation of the important support of the front line countries in the offensives in Somalia, the meeting will officially be held tomorrow and is expected to spearhead by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The Ministers and the Commanders will prepare the agenda for tomorrow’s summit in their meeting today and it is expected that the results will define the large-scale activities to complete the military operations against the Al-shabab and the overall security of the region.
In this conference, the leaders will look closely to jointly prevent the threat of the fleeing Al-shabab from the security of the region, full cooperation of the Somalia National Army, the African Union Army (ATMIS) and The non-ATMIS forces in Somalia. It is expected that the result of this cooperation will lead to the quick liberation of the country from the Al-shabab who dealt heavy blows in the last few weeks in the battlefields, and a large areas have been liberated.
On the other hand, The Federal Government of Somalia apologizes for the impact of measures to tighten the security of Mogadishu, which is hosting the conference, on the activities and lives of the people living in Mogadishu. The government said that there is a need to limit the activities and flights of Mogadishu International Airport for two days, and the people will feel the burden of these measures.
The meeting today in Mogadishu by the leaders of the frontline countries is the first of its kind that Somalia has hosted, and it coincides with a time the country is setting foot on the road to restore peace.
