The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Somalia Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor (Madobe) has appointed a 10 Member committee to evaluate the current tension of Las Anod which resulted in deaths and injuries.
The committee aimed to release an immediate preliminary report although the speaker did not specify how long it could take the committee to share their findings with the public and the assembly.
The situation of Las Anod is relatively calm today and no protests were reported as the Somaliland government officials, law makers, intellectuals and opposition figures repeatedly called for calm and to restore stability.
Several people died in police clashes after angry protesters gathered on the streets demanding the government to put an end to the frequent assassinations in the region and bring the suspects to justice.
