The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Somalia Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor (Madobobe) held a meeting with the council of Presidential Candidates of the South West state in his residence.
The South West Presidential candidates and the Governor have agreed to work together to reconcile the political stakeholders in order to find unity and cooperate to advance the liberation of the areas where the Al-Shabaab group is located.
He highlighted the efforts to reconcile the South West saying that it is important for the unity and peace and to strengthen the people’s uprising to liberate the country from Al-shabab and desist from insecurity activities.
Recently, The Speaker issued a press release on the political tension which turned into violence in Baidoa city, ordering the Presidential candidates and the people to de-escalate tension and desist from insecurity activities.
At least ten people were killed in a gun battle between South West State forces and militias loyal to opposition candidates in Baidoa early Friday morning.
