Italian Prime Minister welcomes Somalia’s President at the Chigi Palace in Rome, Italy

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, had a meeting with the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni where the two officials discussed various topics including the strengthening of diplomatic and cooperative relations between the two governments, investment, economy, industry and education. The President and the delegation he led on this trip will also sign agreements based on the interests of the country with their counterparts in Italy.

President Hassan Sheikh shared with the Itailan prime minister the importance of the historical relationship between the two countries, noting that the Somalia government wants to strengthen the role of the Italian government in the development of the country’s education, the construction of the army and the fight against terrorism.

President Hassan Sheikh thanked the government and the people of Italy for their support in various ways and their support for the people of Somalia.

On the other hand, the Italian prime minister praised the federal government of Somalia for its efforts to liberate the country from the Al-Shabaab group, and promised to stand by Somalia government and support the fight against Al-Shabaab.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is carrying the national plan to eliminate Al-Shabaab, has presented to the Italian official the areas that the Federal Government of Somalia needs support at, to achieve a complete victory in the offensives against Al-shabab, and to bring stability and peace to the Somali people.
