The meeting of the Ministers of Information of the Arab League countries members has officially kick started in Tripoli of Libya, where Somalia’s minister of information, Daud Aweis was present at the meeting.
He delivered a keynote speech that touched on various issues including the government’s progress on the anti war against Alshabab and said that Somalia used three important aspects in the ongoing war: the military, the economic blockade of terrorism and to take out the extremist ideology.
The Minister told the Conference that the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s first priority is to eliminate the Al-shabab in the country, so that the people of Somalia can be freed from the “atrocities” they face. The minister claimed that the Somali media plays a full role in the fight against terrorism.
Meanwhile, the Minister called on the Arab League to fully support Somalia’s war against the al-Shabab, which can ultimately lead to full stability in Somalia and influence the world.
On the other hand, the city of Tripoli in Libya, which hosted the conference, was recognized this year as the media capital of the member countries of the Arab League.
