Somalia national armed forces are still carrying out operations against Alshabab in some villages under Wabho district of Galgaduud region which Alshabab has been controlling for the last decade.
Initial reports say at least 15 Alshabab fighters were killed during the raid and more civilians fled from the villages to seek safe places. Government officials claimed full control of the district after local militias supported the government forces in the liberation of the villages.
A Regional lawmaker revealed that Alshabab fighters planted improvised explosive devices on the roads to harm the armed forces, but was prevented by the coalition forces. The government repeatedly pledged to remove Alshabab from their final hideouts in the country and asked the local residents to support the national armed forces.
