Somalia national army (SNA) has claimed killing 20 al-Shabaab fighters in security operations in central Somalia. Speaking to the media, they said Somalia forces had diffused improvised explosive devices planted on the sides between Dhuusamareeb and Guriel towns.
According to the officials, the operations against al-Shabaab will be continuous in the region. The development came a day after Somali military claimed to have liberated two towns and eight villages in the southern Middle Shabelle region from Al-Shabaab.
The military operation was conducted in Hawadley and Jameo, located on the outskirts of the Balad district, 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of the Somali capital Mogadishu. The army also liberated eight more villages in operation against al-Shabaab group that has been carrying out a suicide bombing, attack on the army bases. But Alshabab has not yet officially responded to this claim.
