Somalia National Army forces neutralize Lower Shabelle Al-Shabaab leader

Somalia’s state-owned media reported that 14 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in an operation carried out by the Somali National Army in Janale, a rich agricultural area in the Lower Shabelle.

Among those killed was Mohamed Nur Shire, a leader of Alshabab for the Lower Shabelle region. The group has not yet responded to this claim by the national army forces and CBA can not independently verify it.

Security forces said the killing of the Ashabab members came at a critical time as they were able to foil a terror attack plan by the group against the people in the Janale area.

The killing of the Lower Shabelle Al-Shabaab leader comes a week after another core leader, Abdullahi Nadir, who had a $3 million bounty on his head, was killed in an operation conducted by the SNA and international security partners in Haramka village in the Middle Juba region.
