Somalia national and security agency has released a comprehensive report about the detention of former Al Shabaab commander Mukhtaar Roobow and stated that he is safe and secure in the prison.
The report revealed that Mukhtar Roobow has special medical doctors to take care of him and the government spends $7,000 per month to manage his life and his family. The report did not mention how this money is distributed.
The statement reads that Mukhtaar Roobow is now a Master’s degree student and pursuing his studies while in prison. Responding to the order from the Internal security ministry, the National intelligence agency reiterated that the reason Roobow is in jail is because he was a member of Alshabab and has not yet met the conditions for surrender.
But, NISA has not yet clarified the conditions that Roobow did not meet to free him from prison.
